Friday's Food for Thought #004

Japanese Wabi-Sabi philosophy, debunking sleep myths, and the Luna Red Sunset Sleep lights.

A healthy welcome to Friday's Food for Thought: the three things you could be doing right now to live a happy, healthy, and successful life.

What I am reading

I believe that entrepreneurs can have it all: We can be happy, healthy, and successful all at once. But there is a difference between thinking that you can do it and actually doing it. To make my dream a reality, I knew I needed some inspiration. This week I found my inspiration in an unlikely place: Japanese Wabi-Sabi philosophy. A 3,000-year-old tradition that values imperfection as beauty & celebrates the wisdom of imperfection.

What I am Watching

Since last week, I have been watching videos about sleep. If you have only thirteen minutes to spend: this is the best video I have found. There is a lot of misinformation, and I'm happy to see experts sharing evidence-based information. It's all about your circadian rhythm, which dictates when your body is ready to fall asleep and when it needs to wake up.

What I am Testing

I have been pretty happy with the quality of the light coming off my Philips Hue lights. However, two years ago, I was intrigued by another light bulb company called Truelight. So I decided to give their Luna Red Sunset Sleep lights a try. The innovative bulb is now the only light source in my bedroom. This week I am expanding through the home, starting with the bathroom and the hallway.
