Waves, wind, distant traffic, planes lifting off, the low hum of the island waking up. Before I open the studio door, I’m already composing: rhythm, tension, release. This is my life as an Ibiza techno DJ and producer. My name is **Sebastiaan Hooft**, a Dutch-born, Ibiza-based, dedicated to techno, health, and consistent creativity. --- ## Who I Am Before relocating to Ibiza, I founded companies that grew into the **Deloitte Fast 500 Europe Top 10**. I wrote the bestselling book "Redesign" and coached entrepreneurs on achieving sustainable performance. Today, my world is structured around three elements: - **Techno** producing and playing peak-time, rolling, hypnotic techno. - **Health** the foundation that fuels long studio days and high-energy nights. - **Systems** structured routines that allow creativity to become a daily output, not a lucky accident. I host: - **The Midnight Project** - **In Session Ibiza** - **Underground Frequencies** And I run **Redesign Records**, my label for modern, Ibiza-driven techno. --- ## My Techno Sound If I summarise it: > **Peak-time pressure with a clear mind.** More technically, my sound includes: - 4/4 mechanical drive - rumble low-end - rolling basslines - percussive top-end movement - long tension-and-release arcs - atmospheric drones inspired by Ibiza I want each track and set to feel like a journey through energy and clarity. --- ## Why Ibiza Shapes My Music Ibiza is a contrast engine. Quiet mornings and loud nights. Sunrise calm and peak-time chaos. Nature, nightlife, recovery, momentum. A typical day in my creative system: - **Early morning** walk with Bo, stretch, slow coffee - **Late morning** deep studio block (sound design, arrangement) - **Afternoon** Redesign Records, admin, radio prep - **Evening** second studio block or a set - **Late night** club, Tomorrowland Rooftop Sessions, or note-taking The climate, the colours, the people; they shape the emotional tone of my tracks. --- ## Inside My Studio Workflow I treat my production work like a laboratory; a structured, disciplined, and purpose-built space. ### 1\. Kick & Bass Everything starts with the low-end. Rumble, weight, precision. ### 2\. Groove & Percussion Energy comes from movement, claps, shuffled hats, and transient layers. ### 3\. Atmosphere & Drones Long evolving beds that create tension and depth. ### 4\. Structure & Energy Mapping 16/32/64-bar arcs for DJs to ride. Build → hold → break → release. ### 5\. Testing & Refining Car, club, headphones, radio. Notes, adjustments, more notes. Every track must answer the question: **Does it move the room?** --- ## How I Use AI in Music and Creativity AI amplifies my workflow — but doesn’t replace human taste.
