Tomorrowland Ibiza staff named Sebastiaan Hooft their DJ of the year

"The staff at Tomorrowland Rooftop Sessions Ibiza named me their DJ of the year for the 2026 season. I want to write that down properly, because of all the things that happened this year on that roof, this is the one I did not expect."

Here is why it lands differently than a chart position or a review. The people who gave it are the ones who work every single night up there. Bar, runners, and the store team. They stand at the side of the booth from the first record to the last, week after week, with every DJ who comes through. They hear everything. They know which sets actually move a room and which ones only look like they do. There is no marketing budget that reaches those people.

"I played a Friday residency at the rooftop through the 2026 season, and most of what I have made this year was built there first. Records went into the set on that roof before they went anywhere near a radio show. The crowd up there taught me more about pacing and about holding back than any studio session did.

So, to the Tomorrowland Ibiza rooftop team: thank you. You made those nights work. I just picked the records."
