One of the highlights this week is the widespread support for the Eternum remix, which has caught the attention of industry giants like Dada Life in their February Podcast. This remix embodies the collaboration and innovation spirit driving The Midnight Project and my record label.

Antwerp: Coffee, Chocolate and Fashion

Wearing ERL, a Los Angeles-based brand founded by Eli Russell Linnetz in 2019

Over the weekend, we embraced the art of slowing down with a trip to Antwerp, a city that delights the senses. Our adventure began with a brunch at Butchers Coffee, where each bite and sip of Andy's coffee felt like a warm embrace, reminding us of life's simple pleasures. The journey continued at Chocolate Line, a paradise for chocolate lovers. Our quest for unique finds led us to Vier, a boutique that marries classic and contemporary fashion with unparalleled elegance. This brief escape to Antwerp underscored the importance of downtime. In these moments of leisure and discovery, we recharge and find inspiration, reminding us that life's richness often lies in its simplest joys.

Stop Reading the News

In the spirit of reflection and change, I want to share a personal decision that marks a new chapter in my journey. This weekend, I undertook a significant cleanse, not of my physical space, but of my digital life. Inspired by friends like journalist Eric Smit and the need for personal peace over online noise, I've decided to step back from X. This decision was influenced by the realization that the constant influx of information, such as an incident I learned about through unsolicited messages regarding a fire in Valencia, was detracting from my well-being. For a deeper dive into why news can be harmful, I recommend reading this insightful piece: News is bad for you – and giving up reading it will make you happier.

To align my actions with my newfound perspective, I'm erasing my posts and no longer following anyone on these platforms. My profile now directs people here to our newsletter, where we can connect more meaningfully. A welcome to all the new Midnighters who subscribed this week! This choice wasn't made lightly, especially considering the valuable connections and inspirations I've found online. However, finding a balance between being informed and maintaining mental clarity has become paramount.

This journey has taught me the importance of prioritizing our well-being and making conscious choices about engaging with the world around us. I hope my experience encourages you to consider your digital consumption and find a balance that works for you.

As we continue to navigate the digital landscape together, I'm excited to share more of my music, guest mixes, and personal insights that shape our shared journey. And, as always, I'll include a healthy tip and a suggestion to inspire and motivate you.

Thank you for being a part of The Midnight Project. Your support fuels this journey. Let's embrace techno and moments that bring us together!

Warmest regards,

Sebastiaan Hooft
