The Midnight Project #116
Waking up on Wednesdays means a fresh episode of The Midnight Project is here to energize your day. This week, the sounds you’ll hear are infused with the spirit of the French and Spanish landscapes that have been inspiring me on my travels.
Show Notes Highlight
This week’s episode starts with "Nexus" by Bart Skils and SUDO, a track that immediately draws you in with its hypnotic groove. Bart Skils, a key figure on Adam Beyer’s Drumcode label, collaborates with SUDO to create a mesmerizing soundscape that sets the tone for the rest of the mix. And don't miss the premiere of "Final Fight" by Cosmic Boys, who consistently deliver tracks that light up my sets.
The full tracklist is available at 1001 Tracklists. For the latest episode of The Midnight Project, tune in to DI.FM every Wednesday at 6 AM CET.
Hydrate!
Staying hydrated has been key as I navigate these warm, sun-soaked regions. A simple but powerful tip: always carry a water bottle with you. Not only does it keep you refreshed, but it also helps maintain your energy levels throughout the day. Hydration is crucial not just for physical performance but also for mental clarity. I stay away from alcohol. However, that's not for everyone. In my book "Redesign," I emphasize that listening to your body and staying hydrated is essential for maintaining peak performance in every area of life.
On the Road
I’m producing this show from a cozy apartment on the French coast (check my Instagram Stories), but I’m already looking forward to the next leg of my journey—crossing the border into Spain! The culture, the food, and the vibrant techno scene there are calling my name. I can’t wait to see what inspiration awaits me in Spain, and I’ll be sure to bring those vibes into the next episode.
For those curious about upcoming gigs, stay tuned for announcements. And don’t forget—I’ll be doing a panel discussion at the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) this October! I’d love to meet as many of you as possible, so if you're attending, let’s connect and chat about all things techno.
Don’t forget to subscribe to The Midnight Project on DI.FM and share it with your fellow techno fans. Let's keep growing this amazing community of Midnighters! I’d love to hear what you think—comment with your favorite track from this week’s show or recommend an artist you’d like to hear next time.
Stay hydrated and inspired, and keep the music alive until then.
Spain bound,
Sebastiaan Hooft
