A Meditation on Soil

For most breakfasts, I make loaded oatmeal (fruits, seeds, nuts, and algae); however, occasionally, I get sourdough bread and make avocado toast—I'm lucky there is a sourdough bakery on the island.

I also want to share a powerful TEDx talk by Youri Post, whom I had the pleasure of meeting at a sourdough bakery in Santa Eularia. Over fresh bread and rich coffee, we spoke about life, intention, and our connection to the natural world—conversations that felt perfectly in sync with Ibiza’s grounding energy.

Youri’s talk, A Meditation on Soil | TEDxDaltVila, explores the often-overlooked vitality of soil and its role in teaching us humility and perspective. He speaks about how soil shows us that life is not ours to possess but a gift we are entrusted to nurture. It’s a humbling reminder of how the most superficial elements in life can teach us profound lessons about connection and care.
