The Midnight Project #121

The Midnight Project #121

It feels incredible to write to you from Ibiza, where I'm reconnecting with the island more profoundly than ever before. You might remember from last week's newsletter that I'm settling into my temporary home in Valencia. Life has already started to inspire new directions in my music and lifestyle projects. But something about Ibiza has always been close to my heart.

Back in 2008, when I was fully immersed in my entrepreneurial life, I had a home here on the island. The irony? I never used it. While I was busy chasing business goals, my friends and family enjoyed the house, soaking up the sun and the legendary Ibiza vibes. I missed out on what could have been transformative experiences because I was too focused on work.

Ten years later, when I returned to Ibiza for the International Music Summit (IMS) and my residency for Mambo, I discovered what I had been missing. The island's unique blend of freedom and energy captured my heart. Each visit since has deepened my connection, and now, it's becoming serious. We're scouting for a home here, as Ibiza is the perfect place to balance life and creativity.

Discover fresh techno with The Midnight Project. Weekly new releases, energizing workout mixes, and exclusive underground tracks await you.

For this week's episode, I wanted to showcase my latest remixes. The show starts with Marie Vaunt & Belocca's "Lost In Rhythm," a track that embodies the hypnotic groove this island is famous for. You'll also hear my remixes of Sergio Marini & Luke's "Whoopee," Horatio & Pagano's "Raving Adventure," and Slim Black's "Eternum." Each track carries a piece of Ibiza's spirit—deep, rhythmic, and utterly captivating—full tracklist and players at 1001 Tracklists.

And—I'm almost finished with a new bootleg that I'll release as a free download at the end of this week. I'm proud of it and can't wait for you to hear it, so stay tuned!

Lesson from Redesign

As I look back on my journey, one lesson stands out that I want to share with you. Back in 2008, when I was deep into my entrepreneurial grind, I never took a moment to appreciate what I had accomplished. It pushed me to work harder when we hit milestones, never stopping to celebrate those wins. Only later did I realize the importance of taking a step back, recognizing the achievements, and being present in those moments.

Today, I emphasize the need to acknowledge what you've already accomplished and what you have. It's easy to get caught up in the drive to do more and be more, but it's crucial to pause and appreciate how far you've come.

As I wrote in my book Redesign:

"I never took one second to look at what we were achieving. When we received an award or reached a sales target, it was just an endorsement for me to work harder. I wish I had celebrated my wins. When I mentor people today, I try to make them aware of what they've already accomplished and what they have. The only thing I looked at was how we could grow faster, and it was never enough, even though the company was increasing revenues yearly. Even when we received one of our biggest honors—being chosen by accounting firm Deloitte as one of Europe's five hundred fastest-growing companies—I felt nothing inside. It was just another piece of information."

Please check out the full tracklist from this week's show at 1001 Tracklists and let me know which track resonated with you the most.

Until next time, keep the beats alive, and don't forget to share The Midnight Project with your friends. Let's grow this community of Midnighters together.

See you on the dancefloor—or maybe here in Ibiza.
