Health and happiness over money

In 2009, I was painfully confronted with the reality that I had sacrificed my well-being for the financial gain of others. This realization hit me during a nervous breakdown, a time when my business partners seemed more concerned about my ability to keep contributing to their financial success than about my recovery. It was a revelation that changed the course of my life and profoundly influenced my understanding of success and fulfillment.

This experience taught me the toxic potential of relationships with people primarily driven by financial gain. I acknowledged my role in sacrificing my health and happiness, a bitter pill to swallow. However, it also catalyzed my recovery and transformation, eventually leading to my book and speaking engagements.

My recovery journey included embracing daily meditation and physical self-care through healthy eating and adequate exercise. But above all, it involved developing the courage to set firm boundaries. It became clear that, while I still feel frustrated when people act primarily out of financial interest—sometimes even to the point of anger—setting clear, unwavering boundaries is essential for my well-being.

"Health and happiness over money" is the mantra guiding my life. It reminds me to make decisions that reflect my integrity and values and to consciously choose relationships and business ventures that respect and promote my well-being. It has helped me leave toxic relationships behind and build a life that supports my personal and entrepreneurial growth without sacrificing my health and happiness.

Setting boundaries has become as important to me as my physical and mental self-care practices. It's an act of self-love and respect that protects me from exploiting my well-being for financial gain. These firm boundaries are my shield against the world of financial exploitation, reminding me that I have control over my life and well-being.

I hope my book and e-mails like this convince you that the greatest treasures in life are not measured in money but in the wealth of our health, happiness, and ability to stand up for ourselves. It's a path of constant growth, self-care, and the courage to choose a life truly worth living.

Suppose you're inspired to delve deeper into this journey. In that case, I invite you to explore my book, where I share more about navigating life's challenges and finding true fulfillment beyond financial success. Read or listen to my book "Redesign" here on Amazon. If you find the book beyond your budget now, please don't hesitate to reach out to me - I'd be more than happy to share a PDF version with you.

As we continue this weekly ritual, I urge you to subscribe to The Midnight Project, share this journey with your fellow techno enthusiasts, and embrace the essence of being a Midnighter. Your engagement, whether through commenting on your favorite track or suggesting an artist for the next show, enriches our collective experience and keeps the techno spirit alive.

Until next week, let the music take you where words cannot.
