The Midnight Project #110

The Midnight Project #110

It's Wednesday morning, and you know what that means—another thrilling episode of The Midnight Project is here to energize your week!

This Week's Show Highlights

The Midnight Project by Sebastiaan Hooft
Discover fresh techno with The Midnight Project. Weekly new releases, energizing workout mixes, and exclusive underground tracks await you.

We kick things off with Wehbba's "Revelation," a track that perfectly captures the essence of dark, driving techno. Wehbba, a Brazilian techno powerhouse, continues mesmerizing with his intricate sound design and compelling beats.

Next, we dive into Bart Skils' "Shadowprint (Dok & Martin Remix)." Bart Skils, a staple in the Drumcode family, never disappoints, and this remix takes his signature sound to new heights with its pulsating rhythms and hypnotic layers.

Belocca's "G.T.D." is another standout track in this week's mix. Belocca, known for his unique blend of house and techno, delivers an infectious and powerful track perfect for fueling your most intense moments.

The full tracklist is at 1001 Tracklists and in your DI.FM player.

High Society (Eftihios Remix)

This week's show also features the Eftihios' remix of my track "High Society." A big shoutout to Horatio, the head honcho of Shodan Records, who arranged the production of this fantastic remix. His dedication and passion for the techno scene are genuinely inspiring, and this remix wouldn't have been possible without his support.

Welcome to the Family, Bo

I'm excited to share that we've welcomed a new member to our family—a golden retriever named Bo! Bo has already brought so much joy and energy into our lives, and we can't wait for you all to meet him (virtually, for now!).

Health Tips from Redesign:

Maintaining mental health is crucial, especially in our high-energy, fast-paced world. Here's an excerpt from my book Redesign that delves into this:

"What I realized in the hospital, and what has shaped my life ever since is this: it is not human nature to be unhappy. Aristotle knew this. He was convinced that a genuinely happy life required fulfilling various conditions, including physical and mental well-being. He introduced the idea of a science of happiness in the classical sense, in terms of a new field of knowledge and a new way of being."

Here are three tips on how I stay mentally healthy:

  1. Mindful Mornings: Start your day with a moment of mindfulness. Whether a quick meditation or a few deep breaths, this practice sets a positive tone for the day. Andy Puddicombe has an excellent TED Talk on that.
  2. Stay Active: Performance trainer Robson Turner taught me that modest physical activity is essential. Even a short walk can clear your mind and boost your mood; I try to do 10,000 steps daily.
  3. Connect Daily: Brendon Burchard's book High Performance Habits taught me to make daily time for one meaningful connection. Whether it's a phone call or a coffee with a friend, these moments can significantly enhance one's mental well-being.

Remember to tune into this week's episode and let the beats elevate your day. Subscribe to the show on your favorite platform and share the love with fellow techno enthusiasts—reply with an artist I should bring to the next show.

Keep the techno alive,

Sebastiaan Hooft
